Pre-Confirmation 5th & 6th grade
We use a two year cycle and discuss Old Testament and New Testament History, the early church and the Reformation. This group meets on Wednesdays from 4:00-5:15 pm during the school year. This is a time for students to begin the discussions about their faith and prepare for the coming years of study in confirmation class.
Confirmation 7th & 8th grade
Meets every Wednesday from 4:00-5:15 pm. The 8th grade Confirmands participate in a Profession of Faith service on Palm Sunday, with Confirmation Questioning occurring the Wednesday prior to Palm Sunday. During this service, they will be questioned by Pastor. Afterwards a special reception is held to congratulate the youth.
Jr. Youth Retreats
Each year our 6th-8th grade youth have an opportunity to attend the Missouri District Jr. High Retreat at Camp Windermere. The retreats focus on one of the six chief parts of the catechism. Throughout the weekend we will participate in Bible studies based on the theme, play games, have a talent show and worship. We will have servant event time on Saturday afternoon.
Jr. Youth Fellowship Events
One Saturday a month we will celebrate the relationships of our Jr. High youth by creating fun Christ-centered events such as Laser Tag, open gym, Skyzone, bowling, and mystery events. Youth are encouraged to bring friends so that together we can grow in faith.
High School Small Group
Small groups are designed to grow relationships and encourage one another in faith development. They consist of individual groups who will meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month. Groups will study different topics/books as decided by the group.
High School Fellowship
We value positive, supportive, encouraging, and faith focused activities where relationships grow and thrive and where all youth feel welcome and safe. Throughout the year our youth group participates in fellowship events.
College Students
We want to stay in contact with you this year as you head off to new places! Please email Christina at and let us know your address so that we can keep in touch and send you care packages throughout the year.
We currently have a college age Bible class that meets at 9:15 on Sunday morning.
Service Ministry
We value hands-on opportunities to grow in our faith and discipleship so that we can experience being the hands and feet of our Savior.
Each 3rd Sunday of the month the youth group leads a worship service at Bethesda Southgate.
Jr. Youth help serve soup at Trinity Lutheran in Soulard.
Each summer our high school youth have an opportunity to attend a week long servant event.
